About Us
The Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation (MTEF) was incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit organization committed to advancing educational excellence. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which operates independently yet in conjunction with the Mequon-Thiensville School District (MTSD) and Board of Education. The Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. The MTEF benefits all six schools in the district consisting of Donges Bay Elementary, Oriole Lane Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Lake Shore Middle School, Steffen Middle School and Homestead High School.
Funds raised are distributed to the district to enhance curriculum, technology, and personnel development. The Foundation also distributes teaching awards annually, in recognition of staff members who demonstrate exemplary leadership in the preparation of students for continued academic advancement as well as two Homestead High School scholarships to deserving students.

View Personal BioDani MelgaardMy name is Dani Melgaard, I am MTEF's Executive Director. My husband Hans and I have lived in Mequon for 16 years, we moved here primarily for the schools and the wonderful communities of Mequon & Thiensville. We have two teenagers attending Homestead High School. My background is in HR and Operations, I worked for Robert W. Baird & Co., for ten years as well as Ellenbecker Investment Group before retiring from the corporate world for a more flexible part-time role in MTSD and then in the CSD. I am no stranger to MTEF, I was a member of the Board of Directors for five years and served on multiple committees during my tenure, including Board Secretary. This is truly my dream job, raising funds for our amazing MTSD schools.Tell a Friend
