Freistadt Fourth
Description
In 1845, not long after the settlers had arrived in this area and founded what is now Trinity Lutheran Church - Freistadt, the pastor decreed the Fourth of July should always be celebrated to honor the religious freedom they were enjoying. The church, at the corner of Freistadt and Granville Rds., has kept that tradition. This year’s celebration includes:
10:00 – 11:00 Outdoor Patriotic Church Service
11:00 – 12:30 Picnic Food, Entertainment by the FreistadtAlte Kameraden Band and Pommersche TanzdeelChildren’s ActivitiesHistorical Site – all 12 buildings open to tour1:00 – 1:30 Parade, with Flag Raising Ceremony to follow
1:30 – 4:00 Picnic continues as described abovePerennial Plant Sale at Historical GroundsDate and Time
