There are plenty of ways to play, exercise and relax year-round in Mequon-Thiensville. Parks, indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, golf courses and lakes are just some of the entertaining pasttimes available. Many organized sports and recreation programs are planned and conducted by the Mequon-Thiensville School District, using school facilities. The TMYBA (Thiensville Mequon Youth Baseball Association) offers Little League and a girls softball program. The Cardinal football program sponsored by the Optimist Club offers football to boys in 5th - 8th grade. The Mequon Soccer club offers Pee Wee, Recreational, Developmental, Select and Premier soccer programs for children of all ages. North Shore Cinemas is a 12-screen theatre featuring stadium seating and digital surround sound.The Ozaukee Ice Center is home to many organizations from youth hockey to adults. The primary youth hockey organization is the Ozaukee Youth Hockey Association. OYHA is a feeder program for the high school hockey teams in the nearby area. The Ozaukee Ice Center is the home rink for five high school teams as well, Homestead High School Varsity/JV teams, Cedarburg Varsity/JV teams and Ice Hawks Varsity team. The Ozaukee Ice Center also proud to be the home rink to Concordia University of Wisconsin Men's and Women's NCAA Division III hockey teams. The OIC also offers public skate time for both figure skating and hockey. |
The Ozaukee Interurban Trail is a 30-mile paved recreation trail that begins in Mequon and spans the entire length of Ozaukee County. The majority of the trail is off-road and perfect for family biking, in-line skating, walking, running and cross-country skiing.
The Trail route connects historic downtowns with natural landscapes. Views along the Trail include hardwood woodlands, wetlands, farmlands, Cedar Creek, the Milwaukee River, and Lake Michigan. It is also designated as a "Great Wisconsin Birding Trail."

The most avid golfer finds ample challenge in the Mequon area's several excellent golf courses. Ozaukee County's Mee-Kwon Park Golf Course, the Ozaukee Country Club, North Shore Country Club, and Mequon Country Club are all located within the city's boundaries.
